Overview

What’s different about the Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return? Well for starters, unlike the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour, you actually get to explore the Everest Base Camp and physically be there at the base camp. All the while walking through the nooks and cranny of the trails and interacting with the locals viewing the natural environment throughout the journey in the Everest Region.

Not only do you get to trek in this beautiful region, but you also get to return back with an extravagant ride on a helicopter. While helicopter return from the base camp may scream comfort and less time with no walking, there is a different superiority of the helicopter return. With the helicopter return, you get to experience a different side of the Everest Region. The eagle-eye view of the Everest Region from the helicopter will leave you mesmerized.

The 9 day Everest Base Camp Trek with helicopter return takes you through a scenic flight to Lukla and mesmerizes you on the very first day of the trek. The trek then starts as you walk from Lukla to a small beautiful village of Phakding.

From Phakding, you will head straight to the famous marketplace of the Everest Region known as Namche Bazaar. Marked as an acclimatization day, it is not to be skipped at any cost. With proper acclimatization and a short side trip to the Syangboche Airport, you will now head to a more religious and cultural site.

Tengboche Monastery is the next destination on our Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary for the day. The monastery is a Buddhist monastery taken care of by the local Sherpas. After a proper visit, the trek will take you to Dingboche for another acclimatization. These small breaks in altitude gain help in avoiding altitude sickness.

From Dingboche, you will head towards Lobuche which is at an altitude of 4930 meters. This altitude gain may take a toll on you so take it slow. Lobuche village has beautiful views of the Lobuche peak along with the other Himalayas.

From Lobuche, we shall head to our ultimate destination i.e, Everest Base Camp through Gorakshep. Today will be the longest trek in the Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary. After experiencing the most memorable and greatest achievement, you will return to Gorakshep. The next morning will be your last day and the most memorable day of the trek.

With mesmerizing and stunning views of the Himalayas and Everest from Kala Patthar (5643m), you will end your Everest Base Camp Trek as you will be returning to Kathmandu by helicopter from Kalapatthar. Not only will you get a comfortable seat and return back, but you will also get the best views of the mountains and the settlements and glaciers and whatnot.

With this comfortable and memorable view from the helicopter, you shall end your trek around the Everest Base Camp and fly back by helicopter return.

Important Note

The above itinerary is simply a guideline and is subject to alteration as per the circumstances. Your group leader is solely liable to bring about changes in the best interest of the group. Flight Delay/Cancellation in Kathmandu and Lukla: The unpredictability of Flights flying to and from Lukla airport, the gateway to Mount Everest and the world’s most electrifying airport is pretty evident from its history of delays and cancellation. Diverse factors lead to the situation of cancellation including the weather, technical issues, poor visibility, etc. In such conditions, Nepal Pyramids will charter a helicopter to make certain that you don’t miss your trip or your international flight. But again under these circumstances, the possibility of flying helicopter depends on the Nepal Civil Aviation flying rules. Travelers are to pay the cost of the chartered helicopter which is payable through cash, traveler’s cheques, or credit cards (Visa and Master Cards only). Travelers will be provided with receipt upon payment so that they may claim the amount from their travel insurance. The cost per person is governed by the number of people taking this facility. It is always very wise to have an extra day in your hand in case of bad weather to which, occasionally, flying of Helicopter isn’t possible. In such cases, we always come up with possible alternatives depending on the situation.
